Two interesting bets from the all-weather today, one each across Lingfield and Newcastle. One from the Tracker, who I’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this since March last year, and one who goes 2lbs better off than when collecting us place money last time out.
Plenty of racing about today, but one very obvious bet which really leapt out and jabbed me on the nose. With double-figure odds about this one, I’ve taken a bold stance to play him Win Only, as I think there is enormous value in him.
On a quiet day of racing we have opted for a minimum each-way bet on a big priced outsider dropping vastly in distance and bred to appreciate it. We’re hoping this is a case of one having been run over the wrong distance for a while…
Early start today so the dial is going to be a brief out and punch. Two I’ve been waiting after, one longer than the other. It has been a quiet few days on the post front, as I’ve just not been sweet enough about anything at remotely close to an interesting price.
A few days of letting them run, as cards just looked horrendously tricky and the weather leading to no end of guessable ground. Nicky Henderson even quite rightly taking to media to justify not running horses, tells you how bad it has been.

Moonverrin (Leopardstown 16:27) caught the eye in a deep enough race, on little more than being a very rare big runner in a Bumper for a yard who seldom have success in such events.
A rare play today in an All Weather Classified Stakes race, in which the Trainer and Jockey have hit up a remarkable strike rate together, with their form figures reading an impressive 131322238482116. They go again, with a runner who looks to have a good chance on paper and he is a double figure price.
One selection yesterday returned a tidy profit, where the 33/1 shot Seven Fires ran a cracker at Chelmsford to justify the improvement expected second time out for Jack Channon. Today we go with two selections, both on the All Weather and one of which I’ve been waiting for over todays conditions.
I was totally content on letting today go, until I had a look at the Chelmsford Fillies’ Novice over six furlongs, which has a vulnerable enough odds-on-jolly at the head of the betting. Going after the Place Boost paid off, with the filly finishing precisely there on her first run for Iain Jardine.
