Keep it fun. Stay in control.
Betting should add to the enjoyment of racing, never take it over. FormDial’s tips are free and there is no pressure to bet — and if it ever stops being fun, free and confidential help is one call away.
FormDial is here to make racing interesting, not to make you bet more
The selections are free, there are no affiliate links, and nothing on this site is built to push you toward a bookmaker or a bigger stake. We would far rather you backed one reasoned selection a day for the enjoyment of it than chased volume you cannot afford.
Gambling should only ever be entertainment you can comfortably pay for — like the price of a cinema ticket or a round of drinks. The moment it becomes a way to make money, to win back losses, or to escape, it has stopped being entertainment. This page is here to help you keep it on the right side of that line.
Bet within your means
The staking method behind the Daily Dial is also the simplest piece of harm-reduction there is. Decide on a bank you can afford to lose entirely, stake in small points off it, and never top it up mid-run to chase a loss. If the bank is gone, the betting stops until you choose — calmly, and not in the heat of a losing day — to start again.
Set your limits before you bet, not after. Most bookmakers let you set deposit limits, time-outs and reality-check reminders directly in your account — use them. Doing so is a mark of discipline, not weakness. And if you would rather step away from betting altogether for a while, the tools below make that easy.
When betting stops being fun
Signs it may be becoming a problem
- Betting more than you can afford to lose, or more than you planned to
- Chasing losses — raising your stakes to win back what you have lost
- Borrowing money, selling things, or going without in order to fund betting
- Gambling to escape stress, boredom or low mood
- Hiding your betting, or lying about how much you stake
- Betting getting in the way of work, sleep, relationships or other interests
- Feeling anxious, irritable or guilty about your gambling
If any of these feel familiar — for you, or for someone close to you — it is worth talking to someone. The services below are free, confidential, and used by thousands of people every week.
