Your course, as it feels
Formdial’s own artwork of the British racecourses — digital paintings worked in the
manner of the old sporting oils, alongside a handful of line drawings.
These are impressions, not photographs. Each one is built to catch what a course
actually feels like — the sweep of the stand, the run to the line, the church tower or the mill
on the skyline that tells you where you are — rather than to reproduce the place detail for
detail. If you know the course, you should recognise it. If you want a survey drawing, this isn’t one.

Getting it printed
Take the file to any print shop or online printer. Ask them to print at 100%
with no scaling up, and choose a matte fine art paper rather than gloss — it
holds the texture far better.
One thing worth knowing before you order a frame: these are panoramic, a little
over twice as wide as they are tall. That is not a size anyone stocks off the shelf, so you will want
a frame cut to size. Any framer will do it, and a generous mount suits them.
