Daily Dial #60 – One Solid Each-Way Bet at Lingfield

Another quiet day during the lull in racing, perfectly exemplified by the fact my Tracker alerts have been silent for nearly a week now. Ordinarily it's rare to go a day with no alerts, but this is a real quiet patch. One bet found today, and it's one who won for us at a huge price in a race over

Daily Dial #59: A Single Selection on the All Weather

The racing continues to stumble on during the quietest time of year, and darts will continue to thrown sparingly. One runs today who has to be of interest as we backed him last month and were able to make a somewhat strong case for him at the weights. A strong jockey booking today means we keep the faith.

Daily Dial #58: One Fancied to Follow Up at Wolverhampton

One bet today, and we go back in on a familiar one after he delivered for us at 25/1 last time. He’s been nudged up in the weights, but that was a strong race with depth to it, and the form suggests he’s still ahead of his mark and looks worth siding with again.

Daily Dial #57: Two Bets at Wolverhampton

With the only selection yesterday winning with ease at Wolverhampton, we're sticking with the venue in a bid to continue the fruitful run. Three of the last four selections have returned a cumaltive +37pts and I'm hopeful on the two tonight will continue in the same vein.

Daily Dial #56: One Evening Bet at Wolverhampton

With the Flat season in sight and the middle ground between both Cheltenham and Aintree, this is always my quietest time on the betting front. The level of racing, across both codes, takes a considerable drop for a period and the betting is tough to beat, so posts and bets take a noticeable dip. The fact today's only bet comes

Daily Dial #55: Cheltenham Festival Day 4 – Gold Cup Day

Wet and windy, and I'm under the weather. Tuesday's exertions possibly the boiling point. I've been watching the festival, but unfortunately the posts didn't make it. However, today goes my bet of the festival, so a point made to get this one together.

Daily Dial #54: Cheltenham Festival Day 1: Champion Day

Champion Day. Finally Day One of the Cheltenham Festival is upon us. I'm heading to Prestbury Park bright and early, so a brief post with a full set of selections across every race, with advised stakes how I'm playing the races. A treble across three shorter selections and then five solid Each-Way bets at double-figures.

Daily Dial #53 – An Outstanding Bet at Wolverhampton

A decent Wolverhampton card today, where there is one bet which leapt off the page at me for one who has course and distance form miles beyond any of his competitors. Hopefully he can kick for home on the turn in and leave his rivals trailing again.

Daily Dial #52 – A Bet Waited For Since December at Warwick

First tickle in the betting since Tuesday, with focus fully on the upcoming Festival, which I'll be heading to ahead of Tuesday morning. The racecards always take a fair dip in the preceeding days and weeks of the Festival, so it's a muddling time of it, but there is a lovely bet to be had today.

Daily Dial #51: Two Strong Chances at Wolverhampton

Two bets on the day, both coming on the All Weather at Dunstall Park, Wolverhampton. Two different angles, one being an eyecatcher who went in the tracker last time out, and one looking extremely well handicapped who drops into this grade for the first time.

Daily Dial #49: Three Each-Way Selections – Doncaster Grimthorpe Chase

Three each-way plays from Doncaster’s Grimthorpe meeting, focusing on sound jumpers from workable marks in races that should suit their running styles. The All-Weather cards look trappy, so the value lies firmly on Town Moor.

Bookmakers’ Odds: How Every Betting Market Really Works

Every bookmaker market is priced above 100%. That excess is the overround — the tax you pay for placing a bet. This piece covers how markets are built, why big races are often the worst value, what an edge actually means in practice, and how to tell whether a price is fair or just familiar.

Daily Dial #48 – Tue 24 Feb – Newcastle and Southwell

A flurry of runners from the tracker today, and all bar one of the six were of serious interest from a betting perspective. I've ended up going with three, all of which are runners we've followed closely and only one of which owes us. The second selection I couldn't really be keener on.

Daily Dial #47 – Mon 23 Feb – Wolverhampton

A very quiet Sunday card was skipped and Monday isn’t much better, but there appears to be an outstanding Each-Way bet at Wolverhampton. He ticks boxes on many fronts – course-and-distance form, jockey booking, below last winning mark and an enormous swing in the weights with a fancied rival.

Daily Dial #46 – Sat 21 Feb – Kempton, Fairyhouse and Newcastle

A short and sharp post today, as I got far too carried away with the cards. Some excellent competitive racing and some cracking races to bet with it. There's a flurry at bigger prices, but pay attention to the points system. The second biggest price is the second best fancy.

Daily Dial #45 – Fri 20 Feb – Southwell All-Weather

With Thursday skipped due to nothing appealing on the betting front, I was hopeful today would offer some fruitful looking opportunities, but I've ultimately been left with just the one play. However, it's a very solid one and one I was surprised to see at such a price.

Daily Dial #44 – Wed 18 Feb – Kempton Park All-Weather

A cracking Kempton all-weather card tonight and again one I thoroughly enjoyed getting stuck into. By a wide margin this is my favourite betting track and we've come away with three absolutely solid bets with boxes plentifully ticked.

Daily Dial #43 – Tue 17 Feb – Newbury, Market Rasen and Wolverhampton

For the first time in a few weeks, the racecards for the day were enjoyable to study. The cards of late have done little to inspire, but both the Newbury and Market Rasen cards look nicely competitive, and despite being low-grade, Wolverhampton looks decent enough too.

Daily Dial #42 – Mon 16 Feb – One Bet at Carlisle

A short and sharp Daily Dial today, with a single bet on the day following a trainer in blistering form, who only has one runner on the day. A handicap debutant in a race that looks lacking in depth at this grade, hopefully it's another good bit of placement.
