With a flurry of cards, I found it fairly easy to be knocking a fair list of interest together, but I just couldn't make most of them work for a bet for one reason or another. One of the highlights of the racing season arrives today, with the Flat kicking off at Doncaster and The Lincoln Handicap as the feature. It's a cracking card that should offer some good early-season pointers, so I'll be watching closely. One selection stands out in the feature — a cracking Each-Way bet who just needs a bit of luck in-running. Should the gaps come in time, a huge run is on the cards.

Daily Dial #56: One Evening Bet at Wolverhampton

With the Flat season in sight and the middle ground between both Cheltenham and Aintree, this is always my quietest time on the betting front. The level of racing, across both codes, takes a considerable drop for a period and the betting is tough to beat, so posts and bets take a noticeable dip. The fact today's only bet comes in a Class 6 Classified Stakes on the All Weather says it all, really.
